THE ORIGIN STORY...
In 2011, Jesenia was producing, writing and directing the third season of an off-Broadway/online sketch comedy show called, "Ay Que Funny", she met and hired Jenni Ruiza as a contributing writer and performer. In 2015, the two hit it off like sisters from different mothers and misters, so they decided to start their own production company, Comedy High Entertainment, LLC, that would produce sketch comedies, parodies, and two web series.
COMING SOON IN 2027 - a grief comedy short film, "Goodbye Mah!" Currently in pre-production.
Some of their most successful works include…
"Latino Stereotypes for Dummies" - written by Jesenia, it's a callout to Saturday Night Live and Lorne Michaels for never hiring a Latina. This video sparked the “SNL = #StillNoLatinas” movement, encouraging the latino voice on SNL and was featured on television programs and several online publications.
"Carrot Cake" written by Jesenia, it's a musical parody that takes a shit on the presidential candidate Donald Trump and all of his stupid-ass ways, through the tune of Hall and Oats.
“INS is Watching Him” written by Jesenia, it's a parody with a message about immigration which brings focus to the serious lack of humanity demonstrated to documented & undocumented immigrants in America. The parody features Lisa Velez (of Lisa Lisa & The Cult Jam) and Jesenia playing her standout character Ricardo Montalban.
